Traveling Baseball & Softball Programs

For those seeking a more competitive program, IGH Baseball Association and the IGH Softball Federation offers a traveling program for players and families that would like to travel to other communities to play at a higher level than the in-house Parks & Recreation leagues. The traveling programs are geared towards those athletes and families that are dedicated to playing baseball/softball and requires a higher level of commitment. Playing time may not be equal and coaches at the traveling level begin to exercise the coaching of position players to provide the greatest strength to the team.

Free Coaches/Parents Clinic!

9 a.m. - noon
Veterans Memorial Community Center

IGH Parks & Recreation and IGH Baseball Association are hosting a free clinic open to all past/present/future coaches and parents. The clinic consists of approxi 90 minutes of classroom time and 90 minutes of demonstration on the West Arena Turf.

We are extremly excited to have former Concordia University Baseball staff member Cory Kissling as our guest speaker. Cory has coached at various levels of youth baseball over the past 30 years. In addition to working with Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legionteams, Cory has also coached at both the High School and college level, most notably he has coached 7 years at Concordia University. He will provide some insight on what it takes to coach a youth team, running effective practices, dealing with disciplinary issues, making youth sports fun and much more! Follwing the presentation Cory will walk you through some drills he has used while coaching and what you can do at home to help your player improve.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on March 16th. Even though this event is free, registration is required in order for us to properly plan for space allocations. Register: http://invergroveheights.maxgalaxy.net/BrowseActivities.aspx?ActivityFilter=14.
